About the club

We came of age in 2008, as we had then been in existence for 21 years.

Following our early years meeting in the Leisure Centre, we moved to our current home at the Alsager Golf Club, Linley Rd, Alsager, ST7 2UF. We are in pleasant, comfortable suroundings with good car parking facilities.

Our club currently has about 30 active members with an approximate 30% female to 70% male ratio. We welcome everyone with an interest in photography – both beginners and experienced photographers. We all have plenty to learn and members are always ready to help each other to improve.

The members enjoy a varied programme of activities during the season, designed to suit the interests of all members with differing levels of skills and experience. These include competitions (which are a great way to see other people’s ideas,) talks by professionals, practical demonstrations, field trips and reviews of work by others in the Lancashire and Cheshire Region. Prospective new members are most welcome to come along and have a look at us for two or three weeks before making their minds up about membership. We look forward to seeing you and can ensure of a warm welcome. Just come along and introduce yourself.

A committee, which deals with the organisation of the club. is elected from the members at the Annual General Meeting, normally held at the end of the season each May.

Whilst the Committee look after the “housekeeping”, they are supported on a weekly basis by a helpful and enthusiastic group of the members.

Aims of the Club

To Provide worthwhile and stimulating events for all those with an interest in photography in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. We like to enjoy our hobby.

To provide the opportunity for the individual to improve their standard of photography by:

* Making available member’s work for comparison.

* Sharing of knowledge and experience

* Providing talks on subjects of interest by experts and/or enthusiasts
