This season is underway, but new members are most welcome. There are many interesting events still to come.
We are a warm and friendly Camera Club catering for all abilities and experience levels. Whether you are completely new to photography or are more experienced and want the opportunity to improve and share your work with others, you will be most welcome.
We meet on most Thursday evenings 7:30 to 10:00 pm (ish) from September through to May. Club nights include a varied programme of activities.
These cover presentations from experienced lecturers on a wide range of photographic subjects including digital imaging. We also have practical demonstrations, tutorials and a number of regular competitions, both within our own membership as well as against other clubs.
Highlights of our exciting 2015-16 season
Steve Lewis – Time Lapse
An Associate of the Royal Photographic Society, Stephen has been photographing the landscape of Britain for over 30 years. Closely associated with the Snowdonia National Park in particular, his knowledge and understanding of the area have allowed him to produce images unrivalled in their portrayal of the ephemeral light and wild atmosphere of that special part of the world. His work is an intimate and lovingly crafted celebration of wild landscapes.
Christine Widdall MPAGB EFIAP FBPE
I’m a photographer based in the North West of England in an area called Saddleworth, situated
in the historic County of York, though administered from the Lancashire town of Oldham! Many of my photographs are made around the lovely area of Saddleworth, especially its hills and waterways.
This lecture concentrates on getting the best natural light look with portable flash units. We bring flash kit and modifiers to demonstrate.
A healthy competition system
We hold several competitions throughout the year.
These give members chance to try out their images and gain really useful constructive criticism.
Alternatively, you can just come along to spectate and benefit from advice given to others and view an interesting selection of images.
